I am a postdoctoral researcher at Mila – Québec AI Institute, where I work with Reihaneh Rabbany (McGill University) and Jean-François Godbout (Université de Montréal). I lead Veracity, an open-source AI fact-checking initiative. Veracity is cited in Canada’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy as an example of impactful Canadian AI research, and in May 2026 it was added to the Senate of Canada’s resources for senators.

My research sits at the intersection of responsible AI, natural language processing, and information integrity. I study how AI systems detect, explain, and help mitigate misinformation, and how to make such systems fair, transparent, and socially accountable rather than merely accurate.

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Université de Montréal in 2025, supervised by Esma Aïmeur and Gilles Brassard, working on NLP, responsible AI, and fake news detection; I was named to the Rector’s Honour List for 2025–2026. Before that, I earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science at the Université de Montréal and a software engineering degree from the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Tunisia, and came to Canada in 2020 as the first nationwide recipient of the Tunisian Government Scholarship for studies in Canada.
